HRIC New Project Host for Global Shapers Norfolk

CHESAPEAKE, Va. There’s a new partnership to invest in millennial leaders to bring positive, regional change to Hampton Roads.

The Hampton Roads Innovation Collaborative (HRIC) is proud to announce their agreement to act as a Program Host to Global Shapers Norfolk, a new social start-up serving the Hampton Roads region.
Global Shapers Norfolk was established in 2015 by millennials ages 20-29 seeking to drive creative change in Hampton Roads.

On the relationship, HRIC President Dan Bell stated: “We promote innovation of all forms, including social entrepreneurship within our region while building regional economic strength. We welcome and are honored to provide Program Hosting support for Global Shapers Norfolk. This group of millennial leaders is a tremendous addition to our regional fabric and HRIC is excited to provide support.”

Outstanding Critical Mass in Chesapeake with Caroline Taylor of Taylor Made Diagnostics

60 people gathered to hear from Caroline Taylor, President and CEO of Taylor Made Diagnostics. Ms. Taylor is the recipient of many awards and most recently, the SBA’s Small Business Person of the Year. Taylor made diagnostics is located in the South Norfolk section of Chesapeake.

Critical Mass Returns!

Critical Mass is a program which blends experiential learning and knowledge sharing with networking and collaboration. The goal of Critical Mass is help businesses grow from gained insight and experience.

In this first re-launch event, the City of Chesapeake’s Economic Development Department is partnering with the Hampton Roads Innovation Collaborative to bring a great event. Our guest speaker, Small Business Administration (SBA), 2016 ‘Virginia Small Business Person of the Year’, Caroline Taylor, President of Taylor Made Diagnostics.
