Autonomous and automated systems are incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) into the management and control of complex systems. Autonomous systems are operated independently of other management and control systems, though may include human operators (i.e., crew) as part of the operation. Crewed spacecraft, aircraft, ships, and land-based vehicles including self-driving cars are all examples of autonomous systems.  Automated systems are independent of human operators though their management and control may be centralized or distributed.  The basis of these autonomous and automated systems are defined through the system integrating physics. The AI requires a detailed understanding of the system as a whole, which the system integrating physics provides.

Listen to an industry-leading panel on the current state of Autonomous Vehicles as they are applied to air, land, sea, and space!

Zoom log-in details will be emailed out to registrants in advance of the session.
